Chrissie Hardisty, GoE Founder Member, Director & Trainer, writes: I was privileged to be one of 15 people to attend a four-day Advanced EFT Workshop held in Gary Craig's home at Sea Ranch a couple of weeks ago. The majority of us were from the United Kingdom but we also had participants from Ireland, Belgium and New Zealand. Here is my report of the techniques and approaches we learned about.

Think metaphor is random silly stuff done by people who aren't clever enough to think clearly? Limited to religious or hippie types? Not real hard information? Well, then think again..

Metaphor is an information transmission device which is exponentially more *information dense* than linear thought expression and indeed, one cannot actually get by in the n-complex systemics of the human mind or energy system without speaking this information rich super-language. Here is a teaching example as to what happens when someone takes a metaphor, namely the "Snow Globe" from the EMO technique of the same nature, and translates it into the "more sensible sounding" format of linear thought and calls them a "Thought Ball" - and just HOW MUCH would be lost in doing so.

It is true - a whole lot of the older style "mind body spirit" stuff was lamentably weak and mushy in the whole emotions department, as well as lacking in logic.

This has often turned men away from using the approaches, mistakenly thinking that worrying about energy systems and such things as "Heart Healing" wasn't their thing, wasn't what they wanted or needed.

It really is important to understand that we are NOT talking about Valentine's Cards here, pink fluffy slippers or crying for hours like a girl.

The Association for Meridian Energy Therapies (The AMT) is proud to announce the publication of our 2003 year book, 'Energy 2003'. This excellent little book is a great introduction for new people to the field and contains introductions to the main Meridian Energy Therapies (METs) including the 'Ambassador' Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), explanations of terms and referrals to practitioners and trainers. Our members & associate members shall be receiving their complementary copy through the post in the next few weeks. Fourteen curious people recently gathered in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire for the Practitioner Training in EMO™. This was my first experience of teaching EMO™, and I was not sure how they would respond to this newest Meridian Energy Therapy. However even those with limited energy work experience soon picked up the technique (of course – it’s so simple and natural!).
