Silvia Hartmann writes: Every cloud has a silver lining, and every problem has its upside somewhere, too. Psychology uses the term "Secondary Gain" for this well known phenomenon. In some cases, the benefits of having the problem are so great, they outweigh the suffering the problem is causing; in some cases, these benefits turn out to be the reason for acquiring the problem in the first place (I call that the Primary Gain).

Silvia Hartmann  writes: When Project Sanctuary gets going, we have EXPERIENCES.

These are "other than" simply imaginings; they are autogenic experiences whilst awake which are very much related to, and feel like, lucid dreams.

You could call them visions, if you wanted; the key thing is that these experiences have a numinous quality and the person who has them, KNOWS that they are of a different order than just visualisation, fantasy or day dreaming.

Ice spirits, crystal transporter pads, rainbow mirrors, dreaming rooms, gothic windows into other dimensions - take a trip to a very different place, a locus that is well known to song and tale - these are the realms of Superman's Fortress of Solitude, the Snow Queen's ice palace, and where Father Christmas has his magic workshop.

Helena writes: There is an enormous power in writing things down (or drawing them), because the moment I had written my last email, it's like a light went up and suddenly I realised that I had indeed started making progress and that the whole secret was no to try to hurry things up. Things HAD been changing, but very gradually and I had just been too impatient to get it over with. I also realised that I don't even have to lie down to be in Sanctuary since that's when I tend to fall asleep or when my thoughts start racing. I know what the story is, and here it comes in a shortened version.
