Ed Grimshaw, NLP Trainer & Author of The Perfect Fit, Writes: "In working with clients and seeing people with a variety of issues, one thing that has changed in recent years is treating the client’s presenting problem as real. This was pioneered in the 70s by Virginia Satir (Family Therapist) then by Richard Bandler (NLP originator). They treated the literal meaning of what was said by the client as a true statement of affairs. Of course going back before then and even now with some of the current medical thinking, “the pull yourself together school of thinking” does not get anywhere, its destructive and simply invalidates the poor sufferer."

Retirement for EFT Creator
Gary Craig, founder and creator of EFT Emotional Freedom Techniques, has just announced his impending retirement. This sad news comes after much consideration by Gary, but due to the stress of running a huge organisation, coupled with health issues, it was deemed a necessary step. Gary will be retiring on the 15th January 2010.
Founded in 1998, TheAMT is the oldest and most respected certifying body of EFT courses and will be continuing to teach Gary Craig's good work well into the future. Together we can carry on teaching EFT to the world.
Author of 'Adventures in EFT' Silvia Hartmann's reaction to the news can be found on her EFT site.

Max, an 11 year old boy was having trouble with a lack of confidence, reading out aloud in class and being bullied at school.
Here is a report from EMO trainer Anne Sweet on how she was able to help him read aloud and become more popular.
The scene:
One very basic wooden hut which contains a small fireplace, one window, a door, a small rough bed, plank floors.
On the bed, we have a dishevelled man of about 30 years of age, long, untidy, greasy dark hair, stubble beard, curled up facing towards the wall with his arms around his shoulders.
Sitting on the side of the bed, we have one child, 4 1/2 years old, with a puppy sleeping at her feet. She holds a plain metal cup which contains water and some bits of leaves she thought to add to make a healing soup for him.
Outside, the afternoon is advancing.
On 16th November 2009 Kim Bradley and her support team trained 10 carers and 2 members of staff for the charity ReThink in a specially designed 3 hour training programme.
Here’s how it went!
Telling stories is one thing, and writing them down so they become a "short story" or a "novella" or a "novel" is another thing altogether. I don't think I fully realised that until just now, and I think that is an important step forward.
Writing for a living and being a story teller are quite distinct things.
One the one hand, there is the format; fashions decide how a story should be "presented" to the "target market" and that reflects not only in the language used, and the word count aspired to, but also in many other ways onto the story, re-shapes it, makes it into this other thing.
Being a story teller, one may free oneself from all of that.
The story from Northold I want to share tonight is about a young man, the only son of a rich and aristocratic family, who was badly injured during birth, brain damaged through lack of oxygene we would suppose today.
In this case study, EMO Advanced Practitioner Cheryl Hopkins helps her client overcome problems that are ruining her life.
Cheryl's client can't eat, can't sleep and can't concentrate at work. Until EMO, that is!
