The Traveller

The Traveller

Just put this title down - that's funny. A "classic" symbol painting. A traditional symbol painting. The first one of those was in 2004, but I do know what I mean by that.

A classic symbol painting is created by movements of a hand holding a pen or brush in response to the instruction, "Give me something ..."

In this case and at this time, the instruction was one of my favourites, which goes:

"Give me something I need but I don't know that I need it."

Which resulted emphatically in the Traveller, which is distinctive. It also wanted to sit quite off centre in the painting and there was a rushing in the background. I struggled with that for quite a while, then I glazed it. Then I put some symbols over it. Then I painted the whole thing black blue. Then I put in light green things with my fingertips.

What is it?

I haven't got a clue.

What does it do?

I do not know.

How did I come up with the title?

Well when it still had these lines in the back it looked as though it was travelling very fast so I thought I'd call this creature/system/symbol The Traveller.

This has been going on for quite a long time; I don't even remember when I started it. December, perhaps? Something like that. They're normally faster and normally, I don't overpaint parts of it a dozen times either, so I don't know what that's about. And I'm still umming and aahing whether I should glaze it or not ...

A strange thing, saves me right for making set ups like that LOL.

Here is ...
